The benefits of enclosed garden rooms during winter

12-12-2022

Can we say it now? Yes, we can. Winter is officially here.

It’s time to enjoy snow, sub-zero temperatures and cups of hot chocolate. And yet, even during winters, we want to spend time outside and enjoy the much-needed sunlight. But it’s so cold outside...

With a garden room, you can make your outdoor stay more comfortable, even during the coldest winter months. We’ll show you the benefits of gardens during winters.

From a veranda roof to a garden room

For the best rain, wind, and snow protection, you should go for a patio roof. And when you add glass walls to your roof, you fully enclose your garden room, so that you’re better protected from the wind, rain and — most importantly, the cold.

What are the benefits of a covered and enclosed garden during winters?

Roofing your garden and enclosing it with glass walls gives you the following three benefits:

1) Enjoy the outdoors all year round, no matter the weather

You’ve bought a home with garden, so better make the most out of it! With an enclosed garden room, you can spend more time in the outdoors, so also when it rains or snows and even at sub-zero temperatures.

Tip: Close your glass walls and heat up your patio using a patio heater.

2) Increase the value of your property

When adding a garden room, you increase the value of your property. This is of course very useful if you want to sell your home in the future.

3) Cheaper and easier to install than wintergardens

Now obviously, winter gardens offer more protection against the cold: they are an expansion of your home and are therefore better insulated. The disadvantage, however, is that it takes a lot of time and effort to build winter gardens: the facade needs to be broken open.

Garden rooms, on the other hand, can be attached to the facade (freestanding installation is possible too), which requires less installation time and costs.
